From the 5th - 17th August, the band embarked on it's fourth visit to Lorient Interceltic Festival, Brittany France. The bands performances as lead band in the main shows as well as in the various parades and solo concerts expressed the quality and variety we have to offer.

2 out of 3 complete. The Isle of Cumbrae have just returned from Avilés Interceltic Festival, Spain. A great five day was had by all, topped off by surprising guests at a Scottish bride's wedding in Pravia.

The band have just returned from Bressuire Highland Games in France. This was the bands fourth year attending the games and the friendships made with other bands alone made the games well worth the visit.

The band are just back from a great weekend in Germany for Kempen Highland Games. This was the 7 continuous year members of the band have attend the games and our close relationship with the organisers and German pipe band White Hackle Pipes and drums continues to flourish.

The band attended its first engagement of the year at the HMS Dasher parade. It was a cold and wet day but the band sounded strong.

The band recently received a fantastic write-up from the Ardrossan and Saltcoats Herald about its recent visit to Passchendaele in Ypres Belgium to play for the 100th anniversary of the 1st world war.

Band Overseas Trips
 

The Isle of Cumbrae has released it first C.D entitled "The Road to Passchendaele." The C.D is based a round a theme of the 1st world war, to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the great war and the bands recent trip to Passchendaele in Ypres Belgium.

Over the weekend of 17-20 October the band returned to Passchendaele in Ypres Belgium, to take part in various commemoration events for the 100th anniversary of the first Battle of Ypres. The trip was truly a memorable and affecting weekend.
